Arty's Smarty Doors (Lindsey Johnston)The objective for these games is for children to learn and use the alphabetic principle; the relationships between written letters and spoken sounds. The game is engaging because the students have to choose which doors have the matching rhyming word. There are pictures that go with each word to help the struggling students. This game is appealing because it allows the students to see pictures as they choose the correct rhyming words.

They are given a picture and must find seven other objects that begin with that same sound. This ideal for younger children because it is a simple fun matching game. They will be building phonemic awareness as well as building a larger vocabulary.

Single consonants, consonant blends, and consonant digraphs are included. Nine common short vowel rimes are offered for word making. The game is very visually appealing and easy to use.
